Back in Kansas
I was doing the 500 mile drive back to Kansas this morning, so this post is pretty late. Of course it was a direct headwind from the North on the way back, as it was a direct headwind from the South going down to Texas. It is very green back here now. I really enjoyed driving through the Flint Hills, even though I loath the burning. I didn’t see that much brown, unburned grass, so that is a good thing. Okay, I’m going to watch the Tour of California for a while now. Click here to get to the Live Tour Tracker.

Dirty Kanza goes right up to and through the cattle pens area out of Emporia. Lots of ranches with lots of bovine out there.

I drive from Topeka to Wichita and back several times a year. The Cattle Pens are basically the halfway marker so I welcome the sight of them.
