Straight line sprints. Steve, remember Nelson V’s shift lever in the Tour o’ TX? Pre-STI, rear brake lever was run to the derailleur. Hold the lever to the bar for a low start gear, let go after a few strokes and drop to the big meat. A two speed. He didn’t like the bar-end shifters. Similar to BMX now.
