Forget this Silliness
If you want to remove yourself from all this negativity concerning bike racing for a little while, here’s a video of one of the reasons I ride. Maybe you’ve already seen it. It’s from a helmet cam I was wearing last year at Chequamegon Fat Tire. 2500 riders, mass start, point to point from Hayward, WI to Cable, WI. Even this event hasn’t been immune from doping, but this is about as close as you can get to pure bike riding enjoyment. I’ve won the race 3 times, and even though I flatted here, it was a great day on a bike.

It is hard to beat Chequamegon - it is like Leadville where we get to race on a highway in the woods AND we get to line up with the likes of Lemond, Tiford, Lance and Levi. And Wells and Horner at Jingle Cross. Great fun. John

Would love to see the camera mounted backward (as you’re always at the front, or pretty dang close) in the next criterium you do, watching everyone up close, jumping out of the corners, and winding it up for the final would be awesome.

The TOC had some cameras mounted, but where’s the results? I would love to see a good lead out train from say the back of #2. Or perhaps that tumble in the Rock Island crash sequence.
